W. M. Tyson, CMC, CPA
Kirk Tyson has been providing clients with time-based strategic and tactical research for over 25 years. His primary areas of expertise include competitive intelligence, strategic planning, benchmarking, business development, and executive information systems. Mr. Tyson’s client list includes over 75 of the Fortune 100 companies, and over 500 of the Business Week Global 1000 companies.
Kirk is the author of The Complete Guide to Competitive Intelligence, 2002 and 1998, Competition in the 21st Century, 1996, Competitor Intelligence Manual and Guide, 1990, Business Intelligence, 1986, and Business Planning, 1982. His next book, The Perpetual Strategist, will be published later this year. Mr. Tyson has written numerous published articles, and is also a highly acclaimed seminar leader, and has presented hundreds of seminars in 20 countries.
He is also a frequent speaker at industry and professional associations, including The Conference Board, Strategic Leadership Forum, American Marketing Association, Association for Global Strategic Information, Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, and the Association for Corporate Growth.
Kirk is a pioneer and recognized thought leader in the field of competitive intelligence. He is also a founding member and Fellow of the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals.
Prior to his own firms’ activities, Kirk Tyson was with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) for 10 years and was co-founder of their strategic services consulting practice. Mr. Tyson holds an MBA in Marketing and a BBA in Accounting.
